About Us
(click on a tab below for more information)
Naas Baptist Fellowship began in 1998 in the home of a local family. We began with Bible studies for adults and Bible clubs for children and teens.
From those humble beginnings, we have grown into a vibrant and active community of people from around the world. Over the last 13 years, people from every continent have taken part in the community of Naas Baptist. We are a Baptist church, but we welcome anyone to join us for our services, regardless of denomination. If you have questions or would like more details, feel free to contact us.
Since the beginning, Roger Parrow has pastored Naas Baptist Fellowship. Roger and his wife Mary originally came from America, but both are now Irish citizens. As parents of six children (five of them adults) and now five grandchildren, they understand the challenges of rearing a family in today's changing world. They love Ireland and are excited about serving the spiritual needs of Naas.
In September of 2007 we began holding our Sunday morning meetings on the Naas GAA's mezzanine level. If you know Naas, the GAA is just off the Sallins Road behind the Maxol garage. If Naas is unfamiliar, then navigate the map to the right, or use the Loc8 code NY1-37-PN7.
On Sunday mornings we begin around the Lord's Table at 10.30. Our main service commences at 11.00. If you have children aged 4 or younger, we provide a creche during the main service. It's a joyful time of singing, scripture reading, prayer, praise, and sharing from the Bible. Come early or stay around after the service to enjoy tea & biscuits.
On the first Sunday of every month, we have an all-church Bible study at the Naas GAA. On all other Sundays at 6.30 PM, iMPACT Youth meets for their own Bible study, and children attend Sunday School at a home in Naas. Small Bible study & prayer groups meet throughout the week at various locations across northern County Kildare. If you are interested in sending your children to Sunday School or attending a small group meeting yourself, please send us a message via the Contact Us page. For details on the youth Bible study, visit the iMPACT page.
Kids' Klub, our weekly after-school Bible club, meets Thursdays from 4.30-5.30 in the K Leisure Centre sports hall, off the New Caragh Road in Naas. The Kids' Klub schedule follows that of the local schools. For more information, visit the dedicated Kids' Klub page here.
Young adults and teens may be interested in iMPACT Youth. Besides the Sunday evening Bible studies, they meet for fun activities fortnightly, on the 1st & 3rd Fridays of each month, September through April. For more information, visit iMPACT's dedicated page here.
Statement Of Faith
We believe that all scripture is God-breathed and therefore without error in the original autographs. The Word of God is the absolute authority in all areas of faith and practice.
We believe that God is a spirit who must be worshipped in spirit and in truth. He is the omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and immutable Creator of the world. God is holy and worthy of godly reverence. There is only one God who manifests Himself in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the virgin-born Son of God. He is God, eternally co-existent with the Father and the Spirit. His purpose in coming to earth was to die for the ungodly and bestow grace on those who believe. He died on the cross as a substitute, shed his blood for the redemption of sins, and conquered death by his bodily resurrection. He is the only mediator between God and man.
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. The Spirit posseses personality; he is the divine Comforter. At salvation he indwells believers, baptises them into the body of Christ, and seals them till the day of redemption.
We believe God created man in his own image. In his own free will, Adam disobeyed God and fell into sin. Each individual inherits Adam’s sin nature, yet each person also bears responsibility for committing sin.
We believe that God provides the only plan of salvation. Those who accept his plan will spend eternity in heaven and those who reject that plan will spend eternity in a literal lake of fire. God accomplishes salvation apart from human effort, as an act of grace through faith. God offers his free gift of salvation to everyone and desires the repentance of every person.
We believe that the church is the body of Christ and that he is the head. The body of Christ is comprised of all believers, regardless of location or language. The church functions through autonomous local assemblies of believers.
We believe that baptism by immersion physically depicts our spiritual baptism. It is a public testimony of faith in Christ.
We believe in the frequent celebration of the Lord’s Table because it provides a means of remembering Christ’s death, provokes believers to live in community, and points to the blessed hope of Christ’s return.
Statement Of Purpose
We the members of Naas Baptist Fellowship, having been saved by grace through faith and having followed the Lord in baptism by immersion, purpose in our hearts to:
- encourage and pray for each other as we seek to glorify God in our daily lives,
- edify one another as we grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour,
- support the work of the ministry,
- share the gospel both at home and abroad,
- and serve our community as the Lord provides opportunity.
